Is it possible to change nobr to replace line breaks with nothing rather than single spaces?

I'd like full control over the spacing in my story. <<nobr>>, whether if it's the macro, the passage tag, or the config option, they all replace line breaks with single spaces which means I have to put punctuation on the same line as any macros that output text.

I don't think it's currently possible, but it would be best if there were some way to override the config version?

The way the nobr features work does not allow such an option.
